Duncan Bennet
VP and Managing Director, VMware Australia and New Zealand (Host)

Duncan Bennet is responsible for VMware's operations across Australia and New Zealand, one of VMware's fast growing global markets. Duncan joined VMware in January 2010, bringing with him over 30 years of experience gained through sales and management roles with multi-million dollar IT corporations across Australia and New Zealand. These roles include senior positions at organisations such as Sun Microsystems, Forte Software and Pyramid Technology. Prior to joining VMware, Duncan held senior leadership roles including Vice President and Managing Director of Sun Microsystems in Australia, as well as Managing Director of the start-up Forte Software Corporation.
Kit Colbert
Chief Technology Officer, Cloud-Native Applications, VMware Inc.

Kit Colbert is VP and CTO, Cloud-Native Apps at VMware, driving strategy and product development of "3rd Platform"/Cloud-Native application solutions across VMware.

Previously, he was CTO, End-User Computing, the Chief Architect and Principal Engineer for Workspace Portal and the lead Management Architect for the vCenter Operations Suite.

At the start of the career, he was the technical lead behind the creation, development and delivery of the vMotion and Storage vMotion features in vSphere. Kit holds a ScB in Computer Science from Brown University and is recognised as a thought-leader on third platform, end-user computing, and cloud management trends. He speaks regularly at industry conferences, on the main stage at VMworld and is the Cloud-Native and EUC voice for the VMware Office of the CTO Blog.
Joe Baguley
Chief Technology Officer, VMware EMEA

Joe Baguley is VMware's Chief Technology Officer for EMEA, joining VMware in July 2011. He helps develop and communicate VMware's strategy and vision with customers and partners, using his wealth of experience to help organisations reduce costs and better support users and business needs. As part of VMware's Office of the CTO and its representative in EMEA, Joe assists VMware's customers in understanding how to use today's advances in technology to deliver real business impact as well as working with them to inform VMware's R&D processes.

Joe is a recognised leader within the European technical community and considered one of the top 50 most influential leaders in UK IT, according to Computer Weekly. He has played a key role in CloudCamp and other events, communicating how cloud technology fits into the broader IT landscape. Joe previously spent ten years at Quest Software where he was CTO of EMEA, shaping its direction and strategy.

In addition, Joe is also on several advisory boards at the European Commission and ETSI and is a founding committee member of the Data Centre Specialist Group at the British Computer Society which helped shape the European Code of Conduct for Data Centres.
Bruce Davie
CTO Networking, VMware

Bruce Davie is CTO for Networking at VMware, and a Principal Engineer in the Networking and Security BU. He joined VMware as part of the Nicira acquisition and focuses on Network Virtualization.

Bruce has over 25 years of networking industry experience and was a Cisco Fellow prior to joining Nicira. At Cisco, he worked closely with leading service providers to enhance the capabilities of their networks. He led the team that developed multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) and contributed to the standards on IP quality of service. Bruce has written over a dozen Internet RFCs and several networking textbooks. Bruce received his Ph.D in computer science from the University of Edinburgh in 1988 and is an ACM Fellow.
Simon Elisha
CTO & Director of Field Engineering - Australia and New Zealand, Pivotal Software

As CTO and Director of Field Engineering at Pivotal Software, Simon Elisha is sought after by CLevel Executives who want rare insights into technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data and Agile software development that are changing the way businesses compete, reduce costs and adapt quickly. Ross Brown
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Partners and Alliances, GCA HQ, VMware Inc.

Ross serves as a Senior Vice President, Worldwide Partners and Alliances for VMware, helping our partners integrate VMware Technology and our unique vision for the Software-Defined Data Centre into their services and solutions. Prior to joining VMware, Ross was Founder and Senior Principal for the Spur Group, a leading revenue-side consulting firm. In past roles Ross has served as a VP of WW Partner Strategy for Microsoft, as well as VP of WW Channels and Sales Operations for Citrix Systems, as well as sales and channel leadership roles at IBM, McAfee, Tech Data and Micro Age. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Organisational Communication and lives in Seattle with his wife, two young daughters and two adults sons.
Dr Stefan Hajkowicz
Principal Scientist in Strategy and Foresight, CSIRO

As a Principal Scientist at CSIRO, Stefan's research aims to help organisations explore plausible futures and make wise choices. His expertise lies in the fields of geography, economics and decision theory. In his role he conducts original research and provides consultancy and advisory services to companies and governments. He is also one of Australia's most heavily demanded speakers for professional and public audiences on the topics of future trends and decision making.
Andrew Downs
Principal Head Consultant, Macquarie Telecom

Andrew Downs has over 20 years' experience working in IT across various sectors of the industry. Downs has held diverse roles from enterprise IT leadership to architectural and managerial roles delivering to both private and government customers across wide ranging vertical markets.

Prior to joining Macquarie Telecom he held a management role within HP Consulting services Data Centre Transformation practise.
Anthony Burke
Systems Engineer, Networking and Security, VMware Australia

Anthony is a Senior Systems Engineer within the Network and Security Business at VMware. He works with customers to see benefits of the Software-Defined Data Centre and validates use cases in a technical pre-sales fashion. Previously he was the Data Centre Enterprise Architect for the emergency services sector at ESTA 000. Anthony provided oversight into the architecture, design and day to day operation of a mission critical, emergency services network. His background includes numerous tours of duty working with Nexus 7000, 5000, ASA / SRX firewalls and Catalyst switching. He now delivers scale out data centres and network virtualization with a focus on modern security architectures within VMware's Network and Security Business Unit. Matt Berry
Systems Engineer – Networking and Security, VMware Australia

Matt has spent over twenty years in the IT industry, working on the customer, integrator, service provider and vendor side of IT. Certified as CCIE #10473, Matt has always had a heavy focus on networking but has more recently specialised in application performance, delivery and security. Prior to VMware, Matt spent six years at Riverbed understanding the mechanics of applications along with five years in the telecomms space supporting global private MPLS and public BGP networks. At VMware, Matt is with the Networking and Security Business Unit assisting customers in understanding and adopting VMware's Network Virtualisation product - NSX.
Nathan Wheat
Business Solutions Strategist, Advisory Services, VMware Australia

Nathan is a Business Solutions Strategist for VMware and has been there for over nine years, making him older than the furniture and probably has virtualised body organs! Nathan has come from specialising in Cloud management and automation, but now focuses on finding broad business solutions across the wider VMware capability set and engaging in some of the more complex challenges faced by VMware customers. He is a Liaison to the VMware User Group and a member of the CTO Ambassador program for the VMware Office of the CTO.

Travis Wood

Travis is a Senior Solutions Architect and six year veteran of VMware. Currently Travis works in the Global Technology and Solutions Team developing EUC Architecture for companies around the globe and providing feedback into VMware's EUC product teams. Brad Engstrom
Sales Engineer, vCloud Air, VMware Australia

Brad Engstrom is currently a cloud specialist in the VMware vCloud Air team. vCloud Air is VMware's own infrastructure as a service offering built on the trusted base of VMware vSphere software.

Previously Brad focused on PaaS and public cloud as Head of Cloud Platform for Google Australia. He also has expertise in service provider cloud technologies from experience as part of Cisco Australia's data centre and advanced technologies groups.

Prior to coming to Australia, Brad developed IT and communications products in both Europe and the U.S. and has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of California.
Greg Mulholland
Staff Systems Engineer, Virtual SAN, VMware Australia

Gregs current role is Software Defined Storage specialist in ANZ. Working closely with customers and partners sharing the VMware Software Defined Storage (SDS) vision and driving adoption across the portfolio. In previous roles Greg has worked directly with Telstra and Accenture and other VMware alliances across Australia and New Zealand to enable them to sell and deliver solutions such as Hybrid Cloud, Cloud Infrastructure/Management, Networking/Security and End User Computing.
Sajai Krishnan
VP Product Marketing, Cloud Management BU, VMware Australia

Sajai Krishnan joined VMware in 2013 and serves as Vice President of Product Marketing for the Cloud Management Business Unit, where he is responsible for product and technical marketing, business development and alliances for the several hundred million dollar line of management and automation products. Krishnan has more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry and is a recognised leader in the area of cloud computing and software defined storage.

Prior to joining VMware, Krishnan served as general manager at Amazon Web Services where he was responsible for successfully launching the AWS Marketplace, the leading cloud app store for business software. Prior to AWS, he served as CEO at Parascale, a software defined storage company, which was acquired by Hitachi Data Systems in 2010. Then, he was interim CEO at Arkologic, a solid-state storage appliance startup. Early in his career, he served as vice president and officer at Booz Allen & Hamilton, where he drove strategy work in the communications, media and technology group, and led the firm's early stage venture investments via a joint venture with Lehman Brothers. He then served as General Manager of the SMB-focused StoreVault division at NetApp, where his team won the most industry awards for any product line at the company.

Krishnan holds a bachelor of science in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, a graduate degree in computer science from Rice University and a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School.
Aaron Steppat
Senior Product Marketing Manager, VMware Australia

Aaron Steppat is the Senior Product Marketing Manager, Software Defined Data Centre, VMware, responsible for managing this complex and strategic portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.

Aaron joined VMware in May 2012, bringing more than fifteen years of industry experience. Prior to joining VMware, he worked at Dell for over six years, in a range of technology specialist and product marketing roles.

Aaron is a passionate technology evangelist with a flair for presenting, having spoken numerous industry events around the world and represents VMware as a media spokesperson.

Aaron lives in Sydney, has a daughter, and enjoys running, cycling and obstacle racing.
Andrew Haschka
Regional Technical Alliance Manager
VMware APJ - CoE

Andrew Haschka is the Regional Technical Alliance Manager for Australia and New Zealand. He drives the adoption of VMware products and solutions within strategic System Integration and Strategic Outsourcing (SISO) alliance partners to meet their customer expectations and surpass business objectives. He develops strategies and plans aligned with VMware and Partners' business objectives, reviewing and realigning plans to meet the objectives of both parties. He develops and implements effective and actionable plans; acting as a thought leader with the SISO in their planning efforts. Andrew had previously worked for the ANZ Professional Services Organisation where, as a Managing Consultant he managed a team of 9 consultants in addition to delivering workshops, designs, implementation and training for VMware customers.
